Home to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. Goldsboro, the seat of Wayne
County, is a mid-sized city surrounded by small towns and

Named after Matthew T.
Goldsborough who engineered the building of the railroad in 1840,
Goldsboro, NC as a current
population of under 50,000.
Historic sites include
Cliffs of the Neuse State Park, Charles B. Aycock's birthplace and
Bentonville Battleground, the last major Confederate offensive at
the end of the Civil War.
